In short: the AI Max Analyzer is the free tool that automates the module's method: ten minutes to install and, from the next morning, your spreadsheet has the before and after, the highest-spend combinations and the terms. It only analyses: exclusions run only if you tick the box. The verdict is 🟢 keep · 🟡 narrow · 🔴 switch off and confirm.
The study describes what to measure and why. This lesson is the how, with the tool that automates it: AI Max Analyzer, free for any panel user. Ten minutes to install and, from the following morning, the module's table in your spreadsheet.
How do you install the AI Max Analyzer?
- Panel → My scripts → AI Max Analyzer → Activate (it is free; no subscription needed).
- Create a blank Google spreadsheet and paste its URL into the panel.
- Copy the personalised loader, paste it into Google Ads → Tools → Scripts, authorise it, preview.
- Schedule it daily (early morning). Open the spreadsheet the next day.
It is self-installing: it runs in your account with your user (module 10 of the Intermediate level). It touches nothing in the account: it only analyses and, if you enable that, proposes exclusions via checkbox.
Which tabs does the AI Max Analyzer create?
| Tab | What it contains |
|---|---|
| Dashboard | Traffic light per campaign: verdict (🟢 🟡 🔴), AI Max CPA vs baseline, % no breakdown, Pre/Post excess, observability, recommendation |
| Sources | The split of cost by source (keywords, dynamic broad, keywordless, no breakdown) with CPA, ROAS and value, per campaign and in total |
| Pre/Post | For each campaign: the detected activation date, PRE and POST metrics for the opaque bucket and the baseline, the excess over the control |
| Combinations | The highest-spending combinations (term + generated headline + URL) and whether they reconcile with the search terms report (% observability) |
| AI Max terms | The terms served by AI Max with their source, cost and conversions; the unqualified ones flagged |
| Exclusions | Proposed negatives for the unqualified long tail, with checkboxes (permanent hygiene) |
| Manual | How it works, tab by tab |
How do you read the analyser's verdict?
- 🟢 OK: AI Max performs in line with the baseline and the opaque bucket has not gone off the rails. Action: none; continuous monitoring; approve the proposed exclusions.
- 🟡 Investigate: acceptable visible sources but a Pre/Post excess in the bucket, or very low observability. Action: review that campaign's terms, apply exclusions, consider switching off the keywordless component.
- 🔴 Act: visible sources worse than the baseline and/or a red Pre/Post. Action: switch AI Max off in that campaign (or leave matching only, with strong negatives), and confirm with the official experiment if you want to switch it back on.
Every row carries its recommendation in plain language, with the numbers that support it.
What should you review each week in five minutes?
- The script's weekly email: campaigns that changed colour.
- Dashboard: reds first; read the recommendation.
- Exclusions tab: approve the proposed negatives with the checkbox (or dismiss them).
- For the 🟡 ones: a glance at that campaign's AI Max terms.
- Close. The drift watches itself.
Is the analyser useful if AI Max isn't on?
The script detects it and says so: "no AI Max traffic in the account". Useful in two ways: it confirms it wasn't switched on by default, and if you switch it on later, the script already has the PRE period saved — the baseline principle 2 demands.
What doesn't the AI Max Analyzer do?
- It does not switch AI Max off for you (your decision, in the campaign settings).
- It does not invent attribution where Google gives none: the "no breakdown" share is labelled as such.
- It does not replace the official experiment for deciding on a new activation; it complements it with the monitoring afterwards.
💡 Ninja trick: AI Max Analyzer is free for a reason of Suite design: measurement is the way in. Anybody who sees their own table understands the problem, and anybody who understands the problem knows what the rest is for (negatives at scale, Smart Bidding judged by the business, lead quality). Start here even if you never use another script.
What you should remember
- Free, self-installing, it only analyses; exclusions via checkbox.
- Tabs: Dashboard, Sources, Pre/Post, Combinations, Terms, Exclusions, Manual.
- Verdict 🟢 keep / 🟡 investigate and rein in / 🔴 switch off and confirm with an experiment.
- Five minutes a week; the PRE period is saved even if AI Max is not switched on.
That is the end of Module 3 of the Advanced level. Module 4 picks Smart Bidding back up in its advanced form: portfolios with tCPA/tROAS, cross-mode, the judge and the anomalies.
