📗 This content is the Guardian user manual, the same one the script writes in the «Manual» tab of its spreadsheet. Here you can search it, listen to it, highlight it and save it to favourites.
It watches your Google Ads account 24/7 and emails you when something breaks.
Impressions: detects drops per channel (Totals, Search, Display, Shopping, Demand Gen, Performance Max). Hours when the account usually has no impressions (night, ad schedule) do not count.
Conversions: alerts per conversion action after more days than usual without measuring, and when a channel's conversion rate drops.
URLs: checks the HTTP status of every active URL, detects redirects to another domain or to the home page and measures its load time.
Disapproved ads (one by one), CTR drops and CPC rises per channel, a slow website and the weekly speed trend (alert if the website keeps getting slower).
Each issue triggers 3 reminders (day 0, day 3, day 7), then 6 months of silence.

How to configure it (config tab)
The Config tab CREATES ITSELF on the first run with the design shared by the whole suite. Every setting is a card: the value goes in the yellow box and, to its right, you can read what it is for. Changes apply on the next run (every hour).
| PARAMETER | WHAT TO PUT | EXAMPLE |
|---|---|---|
| Channels table (ON/OFF and Hours without impressions before alerting) | ON on the channels you want to watch and, per channel, how many consecutive hours with unchanged impressions trigger the alert. Channels with no active campaigns are ignored automatically. | ON · 3 |
| Watch the conversion actions | ON/OFF. With ON it watches every conversion action and the account's conversion rate. | ON |
| Check the account URLs | ON/OFF. With ON it visits the active URLs every hour and measures their load time. | ON |
| Hours with the URL down before alerting | CONSECUTIVE hours a URL has to fail before alerting (2 avoids one-off failures). | 2 |
| Alert recipient emails | One or more addresses, comma separated. Empty = nothing is sent. | you@email.com, other@email.com |
| Account name in the emails | Readable name that heads the emails and their subject. | My Client Ltd. |
| Advanced lists (at the end of the Config) | Three optional lists, one entry per row: URLs NOT to be checked · HTTP statuses to ignore (a number such as 403 or 405, or REDIRECT to skip redirect alerts) · Error texts to detect in the HTML (case-insensitive). | https://… · 405 · Database error |
