Guardian manual · How the emails work

⏱️ 2 min read · 🥷 Scripts 📐 Measurement · updated on 2026-09-08

📗 This content is the Guardian user manual, the same one the script writes in the «Manual» tab of its spreadsheet. Here you can search it, listen to it, highlight it and save it to favourites.

Healthy account with no issues: 0 emails a month (except the report on the 1st).

One issue detected: 3 emails (day 0, day 3, day 7), then 6 months of silence.

Several issues at once: a single email grouping them all, with the same traffic light as the Config tab. Several recipients get the same email (a single send).

If an issue is fixed and comes back, the cycle starts over.

If the script itself fails, you get ONE notice a day (not one per hour) and it retries the next hour.

The Tracking tab always shows the state of every alert.

Google limits

Every run has a 30-minute cap. The script stops at 25.

On accounts with many URLs, the ones that have gone longest without a check go first; the ones that do not fit move to the next hour without losing their status.

Email quota: 100/day on a free account, 1500/day with paid Workspace.
