📗 This content is the Demand Gen Ads Optimizer user manual, the same one the script writes in the «Manual» tab of its spreadsheet. Here you can search it, listen to it, highlight it and save it to favourites.
Goal. It finds the worst performing Demand Gen ads inside each ad group and flags them so you can replace them. It also warns you about negative trends.
API limitation. The script CANNOT pause or create Demand Gen ads on its own. Its job is to tell you which one to pause and email you the details so you can act in Google Ads.
Frequency. Run it once a day with a daily trigger.
Pause rules
Rule 1 — Mature. Applies to the worst MATURE ad in the group when: (a) there are 2 or more mature ads, and (b) its score gap against the best one is above B14%. This is the main and most reliable rule.
Rule 2 — Premature. Applies to an IMMATURE ad when: (a) it already passed the impression threshold in B12, and (b) its score gap against the best one is above B14%. It lets you act before full maturity when the underperformance is already obvious.
Score gap. Worked out as: (best_score - ad_score) / best_score * 100. If the best one has 0.8 and the ad has 0.5, the gap is 37.5%.
