📗 This content is the Demand Gen Ads Optimizer user manual, the same one the script writes in the «Manual» tab of its spreadsheet. Here you can search it, listen to it, highlight it and save it to favourites.
What it does. It groups the active ads by NAME. Duplicating the same ad across several ad groups or campaigns is common: here you see its GLOBAL performance (every copy added up) and the breakdown by location.
GLOBAL row. A teal highlighted row with the aggregated metrics of every copy, how many campaigns/ad groups use that ad and how many copies there are.
Best / Worst copy. 🏆 marks the copy with the best CTR and 🔻 the one with the worst, counting only copies with >= 100 impressions (so statistical noise does not decide it).
Criteria. Only names present in 2 or more copies appear. Grouping is by EXACT ad name: use consistent names when you duplicate. Blocks are sorted by total cost, highest first.
Pausing one copy. v1.37: every detail row has a "Pause" checkbox. If the ad works well in one ad group and badly in another, tick ONLY the bad copy: on the next run that copy is paused (the rest stay live).
