📗 This is the user manual for the Suite for ChatGPT Ads, the tool in the Ninja Scripts panel. Here you can search it, listen to it, highlight it and save it to favourites. It is updated with every release of the tool.
The questions that come up on day one, with their answer and — where there is one — the place to look.
«The figures don't match the Ads Manager»
Almost always it's the date range. Check three things:
- «Today» isn't complete: it goes up to the time of the last read. Look at the 🕒 line at the foot.
- The «last N days» end yesterday, on purpose.
- The account's time zone governs every day boundary, and it may not be yours. It's in the technical line at the foot.
If they still don't match with the same range: OpenAI adjusts figures retroactively and attributes conversions up to 7 days after the click. A day from last week can change.
«A table shows zeros»
Depends where:
- In 🌍 Countries or 📱 Devices, clicks, spend and conversions show as «—», not as zero: their API doesn't break them down by segment. If you see a zero there, tell us (💬), because that's a bug.
- In 🎯 Conversions, look at the 🩺 block below: it says whether they're blocked and why (most commonly, your site's tracking not declaring consent).
- Anywhere else, check the data freshness and that the account's read isn't behind.
«I changed something and I can't see it»
The panel works on a snapshot refreshed every hour. Changes you make from the panel show immediately (it re-reads and confirms). Changes you make in the Ads Manager take up to an hour to appear: there's a «Read the account now» button in ⚙️ Settings, limited to once every 10 minutes.
«An archived ad shows as active»
It shouldn't any more: if an object disappears from OpenAI's listings we ask for its record before assuming it's deleted, and if it's archived it's stored as such. But there's an honest limit: whatever you archived before connecting the account cannot appear, because their listings don't show it and there's nowhere to get it from.
And watch out for the similar case: an ad active inside an archived ad group shows as «not serving · its ad group is archived». That's correct, and it's what the Manager calls «not serving».
«Why can't I bid for conversions in this ad group?»
Because its campaign was created with a clicks objective, and a campaign's objective can't be changed afterwards. You need to create another campaign with that objective.
«Why does the audit give me 79 and won't go up?»
Probably one of the two caps: a critical finding limits the score to 79 (two or more, to 54), or you're spending with no target cost per conversion, which also caps it at «needs work». The second one is fixed by setting the target in 💡 Recommendations.
«The relevance index looks far too low»
Check which method it was calculated with (the screen says so). The approximate method comes out 25 to 55 points below embeddings on the same texts — and that's why, with that method, the panel doesn't judge: it opens no recommendations and docks no audit points. Saving your OpenAI key in «My accounts» switches the index to measuring meaning, and it costs pennies.
«I got an email about a problem that no longer exists»
The watchdog reports what it confirms across two consecutive reads and closes alerts by itself when they're resolved. If you get one about something that cleared in minutes, tell us: it may be an OpenAI flicker that ought to be filtered out.
«Can I try it without connecting my account?»
Yes: the demo account, on the 🤖 ChatGPT Ads home page. Invented data, every screen full, and nothing you press reaches OpenAI.
«Can this do anything in my account without me knowing?»
No. Nothing is written unless you press a button, and whatever is created is created paused. The only thing that acts on its own is the ⏰ Schedule, and only with the windows you set. Everything is logged in 🕰️ Changes.
«I found a bug / something is missing»
The 💬 button, bottom right, on any screen. You can attach screenshots or paste them with Ctrl+V, and the report arrives with the screen you were on. It's the fast lane: the tool is in beta and that list is what sets the order of what gets built.
«Is this manual up to date?»
It's generated from a single source and updated with every release of the tool; each section carries its update date. If you see something that no longer matches what the panel does, say so through the same box: an out-of-date manual is a bug like any other.
