📗 This content is the Search Query Optimizer (SQONS) user manual, the same one the script writes in the «Manual» tab of its spreadsheet. Here you can search it, listen to it, highlight it and save it to favourites.
SQONS can connect to an external NKNS (another spreadsheet) to keep the negatives list and the whitelist in step across several scripts.
📌 WHAT IS IT FOR?
• NO DUPLICATES: if SQONS sees a term was already added as a negative by another script, it does not add it again.
• WHITELIST: if a term matches a word in your NKNS whitelist, it is never excluded, no matter what the criteria say.
📌 HOW TO SWITCH IT ON:
• In the scenarios sheet, set A11 = "YES".
• In A13: name of the NKNS tab holding the negatives (column B).
• In A15: name of the NKNS tab holding the whitelist (column A).
• NKNS_SPREADSHEET_URL is set in the script code.
📌 A17 — SHOW SKIPPED TERMS:
• YES: the negatives sheet also logs the terms that were skipped (with the reason).
• NO: only the terms that really were excluded.
Shared lists and auto-rotation
Google Ads caps shared lists at 5,000 keywords. SQONS handles that on its own.
📌 HOW IT WORKS:
SQONS uses the shared list you name in A7 (e.g. "SQNS").
When that list hits 5,000 keywords, it automatically creates "SQNS 2".
It tries to apply "SQNS 2" to the same campaigns "SQNS" was on.
When "SQNS 2" fills up → it creates "SQNS 3", and so on.
If a list in the middle of the chain has room left, SQONS uses it before creating a new one.
📌 THE OCCASIONAL MANUAL STEP:
Google Ads sometimes refuses to attach lists to campaigns automatically. When that happens SQONS emails you step-by-step instructions so you can apply the list yourself. Nothing added in the meantime is lost: it all takes effect retroactively as soon as you apply the list.
📌 THE BASE LIST:
The first list ("SQNS") is YOURS to create by hand in Google Ads and apply to your campaigns. SQONS does not create it from scratch.
